WARSAW, POLAND(AP) —Polish Olympic Committee conduct Piotr Nurowski has died in a plane pile-up that killed President Lech Kaczynski. Nurowski was 64.
Poland’s Olympic Committee says Nurowski was drifting to a commemorative use in a timberland of Katyn, near Smolensk, to mark a 70th anniversary of a murdering of thousands of Polish officers as well as intellectuals by a Soviet secret confidence during World War II.
There were no survivors when a plane crashed Saturday only off Smolensk airport.
Nurowski was to lay a spray to honor Poland’s sports people killed in Katyn.
A former comrade party part of as well as embassy central in Moscow from 1981-84, Nurowski was allocated to conduct a Olympic committee in 2005.
