WARSAW, Poland (AP)—Polish Olympic Committee conduct Piotr Nurowski has died inthe craft pile-up that killed President Lech Kaczynski. Nurowski was 64.
Poland’s Olympic Committee says Nurowski was drifting to a commemorative service inthe timberland of Katyn, nearby Smolensk, to symbol a 70th anniversary of a killingof thousands of Polish officers as well as intellectuals by a Soviet secret securityduring World War II.
There were no survivors when a craft crashed Saturday just off Smolenskairport.
Nurowski was to lay a wreath to respect Poland’s sports people killed inKatyn.
A former comrade party part of as well as embassy official in Moscow from 1981-84,Nurowski was allocated to conduct a Olympic cabinet in 2005.
