London 2012 plans for record 5,000 doping tests (AP)

LONDON (AP)—London Olympic organizers contend a record 5,000 doping tests will becarried out during a 2012 Games.

The local organizing committee has signed a chit of understanding withBritain’s anti-doping physique as well as will implement a testing program underneath theauthority of a International Olympic Committee.
London 2012 director of sport Debbie Jevans says a size of a testingprogram will give a “strong message that drug cheats are not welcome during theLondon Games.”
UK Anti-Doping will sight anti-doping officials as well as support them during theevent to carry out a 10 percent increase on a 4,500 tests conducted during the2008 Beijing Olympics.
